Through our $1,500 Family First Scholarship opportunity, we strive to empower single parents to achieve their educational goals. The scholarship winner may use the award for anything related to their academic journey, like textbooks, tuition, and more.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible applicants for our Fall 2025 Family First Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  • You are a single parent
  • You are or will be enrolled in a course of study at an accredited U.S. college or university for the Fall 2025 semester as an undergraduate or graduate student
  • You are at least 17 years of age
  • You are a permanent resident or citizen of the U.S.

Applying for Our Scholarship

Students interested in applying for our scholarship must successfully submit these materials:

  • Proof of enrollment (this may be in the form of an acceptance letter, class schedule, or unofficial transcript)
  • Contact information
  • Essay submission answering the below prompt

The scholarship application will also ask applicants to submit an essay between 500-750 words answering the following prompt:

Describe your current circumstances and why you decided to pursue a college degree. What are your career goals, and how do you believe your college education will benefit you and your child’s life?

Recipient Selection Criteria

To select a winner, our team will review applications that meet all specified requirements and evaluate them based on the following criteria:

Quality of writing included in the essay submission

Essay provides a clear purpose for why you are going to school and what effect it will have on your family’s future

scholarship

Essay provides reasoning as to what inspired you to attend college and what you hope your child learns from you doing so
